The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the City of Atlanta.
This coverage includes a 132.6 square mile response territory with over 519,000 residents and an even higher daytime population with commuters coming into the City for work and leisure. Atlanta Fire responded to over 100,00 calls for service last year.
There are five divisions of labor, including the Fire Chiefs Office, Office of Support Services, Office of Technical Services, Field Operations and Airport Operations. The department currently operates out of 35 fire stations located throughout the City and are divided into 7 Battalions. 5 stations serve the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the “world’s most traveled airport”. 250,000 passengers travel safety in and out of the Atlanta airport every day.
